In 1985, while still working at Saatchi, Martin Sorrel bought Wire & Plastic Products, a manufacturer of wire baskets for the supermarket trade. He used the company as the vehicle to build WPP, now the second biggest marketing services company in the world. Wire and Plastic products are still very much part of the Martin Sorrel stable. We were approached by Wire and Plastic Products four years ago and pitched against several other agencies on a project to freshen their corporate identity, launch a brochure and build an online catalogue of their products. As well as providing a resource for their stockists where they can view the product catalogue and order securely, the site has a postcode-linked stockists register for members of the public. The fresh new branding, has contributed enormously to the revitalisation of the company they have subsequently introduced new products and opened new markets. We have continued to provide design services and support to WPP since 2006, assisting in the design and branding of new products, photographing new products and making up presentation visuals as well as designing and producing their latest catalogue.
